A HALLOWEEN HAUL.
It has been a long time since I went thrifting for anything, hence the lack of thrifty hauls in this blog. In truth, I gave up shopping for a very long while (dealing with personal issues) and sank myself into a sort of sad little slump where nothing (absolutely nothing) cheered me up, not even finding odd trinkets in dusty o' places like these.
I don't know when it happened but I remember when I sat myself down and basically had a long talk with myself that something was amuck... since even the simplest of things, like thrift shopping, didn't even make me happy.
Long story short, this was one of a very few trips back to the thrift. Trying to catch fireflies in jars again, so to say.
Soooo.... about the haul. We went out of town for these items, so all these goodies are not even from my same city. It warms my heart a bit to know that these bits and bobs came from another place, another town, only to grace my household now.
I'm a simple woman, so when I find a witch... I must have her. I think I have several tubs full of various witches in my garage at this point. This little lady above was only a few bucks. She's definitely vintage. One of those string climbing motionettes that laugh. Sadly, she doesn't work but I still adore her face and paintwork.
Another witch, of course. She is... oh, what do you call the material? Baked porcelain? That fragile bisque porcelain material that feels like it might crumble in your hands because of the texture. Idk why but I always think of teeth when I feel this material. Lol
Anyways, she is a tea candle holder. Where her little witch hat would have been, is where you'd plop a tealight in. I love her.
Found this beauty just laying around a table. For nearly 3 dollars? Absolutely! I got it for my mom, but she'll let me borrow it. Hahaa
Rubies makes some awesome vintage wigs. I personally love cheap wigs, the cheaper.. the better.
The wig is atrocious... I love it.
The paper tag~
Saw him when I was checking out. I seen these in a vintage group. He's not "vintage" but he is pretty old. He lights up rainbow in his mouth, eyes and pumpkin holes.
Confession: I love love love ugly fashion. Fashion no modern person would be caught dead in. Like this patched up fanny pack. I plan to add more patches and DIY some of the not so cute ones.
This looks so much like something Lucille Ball would wear. My brother plans to do a look with this, so we grabbed it.
The dress maker, for those curious.
Okay, this was way too good to pass up. I've been trying to purchase rosehips online but DAMMNNN... they be pricey. So, when I found this huge a** sack of them... I nearly yanked them off the hook.
Doesn't this look like the dress from Shock Therapy? I love sequins, man. It also gives me the dancing dress from Legend vibes. Gahhh!
The tag, for those curious.
Look at that boning. It goes all the way up the chest.
LOOK AT THESE BOOTS, BABE! LOOK AT THESE BOOTS!
They match the dress, huh? Same black sequins!! I'm a sequin WHORE!!! GAHHH!!
The brand. It had Circus in the name. My heart is completely stolen right now. 💜
There were soooo many beautiful pieces at this thrift store. The store's name was Junction, too. A whole city over. I think a Drag Queen donated a bunch of stuff, because it was sequin heaven!! I'm obsessed!!
Found these pants. I'm so in love with decorative clothing like this.
These little rivets were all over the front and back.
I'm so in love with the designs on the bottom of the pant legs. I love that whole gaudy thing!
The brand name, for those curious.
Found this pantsuit when I found that sequin dress. I wasn't about to give up the shiny dress, so I ended up getting them both. The whole look of this looks so much like Wednesday Addams.
Tags, again, for those curious.
My dog only gets the best and this is gonna be the best for her during the colder seasons.
And lastly, I found this book. I'm such a sucker for Sciencey things like this. Even if they're kiddy or silly. I love them so much!
And that is all the items from this haul. I have a few more hauls I still need to post but this one needed to be posted before Halloween since it had a lot of Halloweeny items in it. I'll update with more stuff in the future; more hauls, life updates, etc. But for now, I hope you enjoyed this haul.
xoxo
