HALLOWEEN DIY: Sam Doll from Trick R Treat

 Hello ladies and gents,
Today's post is about one (of the many many crafts for Halloween! lol) that I took up during my HallowQuarantine.
I made 3 different Sam dolls with my mother (Smile & Stitches on Instagram!) for her to sale. I'm happy to announce that she sold ALL 3 OF THEM! That just amazes me, to know that someone out in the world has my little paintwork propped up in their homes. That melts my heart so much!

I'm not gonna lie, painting Sam's face was actually pretty fun. A bit exhausting after the third attempt but each one is so unique. Different from each other!

🎪My Doodles of October (and so on~!)🎪--Snake Woman, Lobster Boy & MORE!

Hello ladies and gents,
This post is going to be dedicated towards my arts in the month of October
(and pretty much up until now~!)

I am working on a few more concepts, some that haven't even been outlined yet
but this post is solely for the ones I've finished (or close to)!

The Progress
I always like to make sure I snap a few images of my work in progress. It always amazes me to see how it can go from this simple outline to something entirely different.

Day one: Ring

Day 2: Mindless. Just a little Jack o' Lantern inspired piece~
As I was doing those daily prompts, I was also doodling for Cult Fragrance.
We ended up doing a Carnival perfume theme for Halloween~

My weapons of mass creation~

For prompt Day 14, I decided to sketch out my puppy. I think, if memory serves me right, the word was "Fantasy"
So, I made my pup into a Princess~ Like those old fashioned fantasy tales~

THE ARTS
I want to add that the majority of these were meant to be "quick draws" from a prompt I started in October. They listed for 31 days a word that had to be drawn on each and every day~
For instance, day 4 was the prompt "Bait" where we had to draw what instantly came to mind, with little to no thought backing behind it. Hence "Quick draw!"

Some are amazing, some are "eh"...most are lacking a bit of detail. Like the hands. I hate some of my character's hands. But I couldn't spend too much time trying to "perfect" them since I'd have to do all of it, all over again, the next day. Also, if I was going to spend any amount of time on any one thing, it would be the color. For me, that is the most important. I couldn't care less about hands, in truth.
You catch my drift? lol Chaotic but so much fun~

Anywho, here are some of my artworks~!

❤️💙Zombie Walk 2019💙❤️--The Making Of & The Actual Walk!

Hello ladies and gents
Zombie Walk 2019 was upon us.
Compared to many of the other years we've attended--
This year has got to be the most active one yet.
(Image found via Facebook!)

There is so much to talk about, which I will include in sections.
Starting with the making of my costume and why.

So, enough idle chat for now--allow us to get into this long awaited post.

☞DIY: Vintage-esque Palmistry Hand Sign by Hannabal Marie☜

Sneak Peek~

Hello ladies and gentlefish,
A while back, I took a trip to Big Lots to take a gander at their Halloween themed decor.
Upon the shelves of decaying bodies, grinning skulls and haunted televisions--my eyes caught sight of the beautiful Palmistry themed decorations. One of which, really sparked a sense of inspiration and creativity in me.
Big Lots had so many cool Palmistry stuff!

Illuminated by LEDS--the "glass" sign looked quite dazzling and really caught my attention pretty fast. But the pricing was way beyond my own pocket-change.
I was pretty bummed out about not being able to afford it until the inner creative demons inside me told me--"Girl, you can just MAKE it. You're an artist, right? Just get to a damn DIY

So, there I was. In the middle of the aisle. Fondling this piece of decor. Listening to these chatting demons pin-point what I should do and how I could achieve it. The other customers in the same aisle were looking at me quite weirdly and probably addressing this matter to the front store employees..but my inner demons were right. How could I call myself an "artist" and be upset about not obtaining something I could easily replicate? For shame. For shammmme.

🎃Dollar Tree Halloween Stuff [A Look Around+Mini Haul)🎃

First glimpse of inside the Halloween Aisle.
Hello ladies and gentlefish
Another lovely post about my favorite time of year.
Quite honestly, if walkthroughs and showcases aren't your thing--forgive me
but there will be LOADS more of these posts until the season ends.

I'm not much of a Christmas person nor am I some sentimental Valentine but when it comes to Halloween--I feel like a kid in a candy store...quite literally. lol

I haven't been to my local Dollar Tree in a very long time.
So, I felt compelled to see what they had to offer for this spooky season.
(If they had anything at all.)
And I felt like Jack when he stumbled on Christmas Time.
"What's this? What's THIS?"
I could explain what I seen in bold text but I'd much rather you witness it yourself.
Allow me to just show and tale~
Tons of costumes have graced the shelves. Loads upon loads of Unicorn related things. Who says fantasy is dead? lol

💮EASTER 2019 (Makeup, Crafts & Shenanigans!)💮 | Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents,
Sorry for the delay in posts but life has kept me way too busy.
I couldn't get to my laptop to post like I should have been but I am here now--
and that is all that counts. It doesn't matter when I post, as long as I post. Right?
At least, that's what I think matters.

Easter was a very simple little holiday that came and went.
Nothing too extreme but we did keep to certain traditions--
like egg dying, the candy baskets, makeup and stuff like that.

I know I'm an adult but I don't care--holidays are still something of major importance to me.
So, we always make sure to celebrate in whatever ways possible. Age has NOTHING to do with having a good time and creating happiness.
Making "straws" for my basket weaving.
Before the "big day" I spent a few days crafting some stuff for future easter looks.
Nothing really in mind but I really wanted to do a sort of "easter bunny" but in my kind of way.
My kind of "spooky fashionable" way. lol

🌹Anita Blake Cosplay--Progression Shots, Finished Look & Little Chit Chat | Hannabal Marie🌹

Hello ladies and gents
As I have promised, I am bringing you the last post to end Grape City Con.
The making of and progression of Anita Blake.
As well as anything and everything else I forgot to mention from the previous post I already have done which included (but not limited to) the actual convention.
Read about our time at Grape City Con

As I already stated, this was a spur of the moment sort of deal.
Consisting of what we, me and Ghost Lee, had already on hand. It took about 2 days to finish this look. Alongside many pots of coffee and music blaring so loud in my earphones that I had to stop a few times to jam out to an air guitar. lol

Anita Blake is one of those characters that I have had on a bucket-list for such a long time.
Scared to just "do it" due to fear of messing her up and not doing her justice.
It's been years, lemme just tell ya...YEARS since I've wanted to cosplay this girl but I decided this time was good enough for me.
A quick sketch of the costume and all the minor details. lol
I also thought this would be great seeing how Marvel bought the rights to her and are creating comic books about the very novels I have fallen in love with. So, I spent a few days rereading the comics and getting into character. I really wanted to mastered her attitude but it wasn't that hard, considering that Anita and myself have very similar attitudes and personalities.

She is a badass who doesn't need no man--yet, she somehow still gets them crawling to her. (no pun intended. lol) She also loves coffee, penguins and having the type of humor I love in female characters--very sassy and dark.

All of this was just more of a reason to do this character.
Also, I thrifted a very beautiful long sleeve shirt that reminded me of her.
So, it was written in the stars for me to cosplay her. hahaa

🎃 Pumpkin Inspired Halloween Nails 🎃 | Hannabal Marie

I wanted some nice nails to go with my new shirt.
Hence the color combo and mini pumpkin.

Hello ladies and gents
it is that time of year and since it is fast approaching
I decided to take this opportunity to create some nails.

These are my Pumpkin/Halloween inspired nails.

I found this cool nail polish at Walmart. I wanted to test it out.

To be quite frank,
it was just an excuse to use this new
black glow-light nail polish I got myself the other day.

👿"Vampyr, The Blood Drinker" Vampire Inspired Aquarium Nails👿 | Hannabal Marie

The nails I created for a makeup look I plan to do soon.

Hello ladies and gents
Since Halloween is fast approaching,
I thought it was necessary to get into the spirits by doing my nails.

The designing of the Aquarium Nail was very different from anything I've ever tried before.

I have been seeing the Aquarium nail going around a lot lately
and I wanted to try it out for myself.
But unlike the typical Aquarium nail, I wanted to do something a little more my speed.

🎨 My Paper Mache Creations 🎨 | Hannabal Marie

My babies!

Hello ladies and gents
I have been doing some cleaning and rearranging for the Halloween season
and I stumbled onto a box full of some of my Paper Mache creations
I have made throughout the years.

Some are from last year, a few are from years prior.
I took them out to gawk at and felt compelled to take some photos
and share with the likes of those who give a damn.

I love all of them so so much!

⭐🌚⭐ "Roots of Samhain" Halloween Inspired Hair ⭐🌝⭐ | Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
I wanted to get back in touch with my roots (giggle) and try out a very loud, creative hairstyle.

So, for the sake of Halloween (Samhain)
I decided to do something associated with this beautiful season.
Something that speaks mystery and darkness...with that lovely twist of the unknown.

I decided to go black and white.
White being the frontal parts and black the remainder of my hair.

I had to bleach my front parts for a while. Get them to a nice yellowy stage before the purple tone.

4 Year Anniversary Gift Unboxing // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
Today I have a lovely unboxing for you all.
My sweet boyfriend decided to make me a homemade gift for our 4 years anniversary of knowing each other.
Around 4 years ago, we said our first "hello" to each other. :)

It wasn't until recently that we decided to take our friendship to that "next level", so thus--the anniversary was born. hahaa

So, enough with chit-chat--allow me to show you the sweet gift I got from my sweetheart~
He handmade me this beautiful witchy candle.

Collagen Hydro Gel Gold Mask // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
This is kind of a useless post but I wanted to post it regardless.
I purchased this little face mask at Walmart a few days ago and decided to give myself a little spa day.
I wasn't going to post anything about this mask until the end results really justified any reasons I had to do so.
ALSO, I took some fun photos and thought they looked cool.
So, birds with stones here, people. lol

DIY Halloween Projects I Have Done Throughout This Halloween Month

Hello ladies and gents
Halloween is the year I get the most creative in.
Unlike Thanksgiving or Christmas--Halloween is one holiday I tend to want to do a ton of stuff for me and mine. While the rest of the holidays lean more towards family festivities and silent traditions...Halloween is something I can do for myself and for others out loud and proud!
It's about being scared or making people scared. It's really a lovely time of the year!

I have done a few things this month I would love to show you.
From trinkets for my brother's Halloween Birthday Bash to props for Makeup looks...I think I did well for this Month of October--if I do say so myself!

Allow me to take a moment of your time to show you a bit of my month from the beginning to the end.

I picked up a lot of different crafting items for the sake of creative purposes! These markers were something I wanted to experiment with--I seen a post where someone used these to create water-colors, so I wanted to try. Fail but try. lol

Love Mail: Halloween Crafting Stuffs & A Mini Crafting Haul // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gentlefish
A lovely friend of mine sent me a bunch of amazing Halloweeny stamps and crafting items.
She knows how much I adore this holiday season, so she just wanted to send a few goodies to get me in the holiday spirits.

I am so in love with the bunch of things I got!
I will surely put these stamps and stickers to great use!

I was so inspired that I went out and did a little craft shopping.
I really feel the holiday season coming into full circle and now I am so pumped up to get some stuff going. I plan to do a ton of things for Halloween--for the sake of keeping old traditions alive and new ones started.

So, for those who have been around for a while and wish to know--Yes, I will be doing a lot this Halloween. From spooky crafts, to makeups and to even scary little tunes sung by yours cruelly.

I am so inspired and so happy.
Enough with this talk, allow us into the small showcasing of both the goodies I got and the mini haul of items I bought.
Here. We. Gooooo....

Lil Missy Doll Collection // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gentlefish
I want to post about this amazing collection of Missy Dolls I found on eBay, I won a bid that was relatively cheap and I got this whole lot for mere scratch.

I have a small minor problem, ever since my brother gave me a Missy doll once upon a time.
I have been nothing but obsessed.
I love the attention to detail, I love that these are vintage dolls and I adore that someone had to put them together by hand using nothing but beads and small little pieces of fabric.

I don't know, you can call me crazy but I'm becoming obsessed with collecting Lil Missy dolls now.
I will be putting all these babies inside a curio cabinet as soon as I get enough money to purchase one.
I want to display them properly.

Anywho, to the collection I got: (And I got a lot!)

4th Of July + Mama's Birthday // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
Today I bring you a long awaited post.
For the 4th of July we celebrated my mother's bday, as well as the 4th all in one happy combo.
(Her real bday is July 9th but we wanted to combine these two special occasions into one, plus mom LOVES the 4th of july. So, why not?)

I really wanted to give my mom something great, so I went crazy shopping with my brother and we ended up getting all her favs.

The idea of making a "surprise bday party" was something we both came up with considering mom never really had a big o' bash since...well, since we were kids and had moneys to spend on stuff like this. lol
I have been working my little bum off and I had the funds to do this--so I wanted to
and so...
Here. We. Go~

✪ Red ⇨ Orange Hair Coloring Process ✪ // Hannabal Marie

Hellou ladies and gentlefish,
I want to share the process it took for me to achieve this rusty orange color that I oh so love and adore.
Before the orange, I was a redhead...

I used Splat in Luscious Raspberries to get that red color.

as time does tell...it was only a matter of moments...errr, or a few washes...for the red to start to fade and thus a new color plan had to commence....

Now before I get into the photos of the orange, I just want to say that it took TWO tries to get the desired look.
I didn't quite like the look of one box color, so I had to use something entirely different to get the ideal shade.
