🎅 Merry Christmas 2018--Christmas Prep, Eve Shenanigans & Gift Wrapping! 🎅 | Hannabal Marie

I made these rocks for my mom.
She wanted the words "Let It Snow" to be on them in some way, so I painted them like that.
Not my best work but she likes 'em.

Hello ladies and gents,
I am sorry for the long delay, I have been nursing an illness.
Aside from that, I've been so damn tired since Christmas Eve,
I decided to take a few days off to just catch up on some Z's and take care of myself.

Since it's a New Year, I want to recap on some of my Christmas fun!
Giving Christmas kisses to my dad Charlie. This reminds me of one of those renaissance paintings.
We didn't do a lot this Christmas, which is pretty much every year--Not complaining at all.
Truth being told, this time of year, I just like to cozy up on the couch with my pets
and experience the holidays as the warm festive occasion it is.
(Despite the weather being quite frightful!) lol

I took a lot of photos throughout the whole month of December, as usual...
but only am I posting NOW about it all.
I got a few mini hauls (I know, I know...I have been getting complaints from a few people that my hauls "bore" them, so I shall keep it all in one post!) and some other fun little shots I took that felt right at the time. I honestly forgot what types of photos I took, so this is going to be fun for the both of us. lol

Goodbye 2018--Hello FUTURE!

I know it isn't 2019 just yet, with my timezone and everything but I know that as soon as I blink, a new year will be already here. Time keeps flying and it hasn't stopped yet but that's life, right? I am bitter-sweet about 2018--it started out pretty horrible but it's ending fairly okay. I am not going to keep you reading a long detailed post about silly resolutions or things that could have been but didn't...no, it's no use to ponder on the "what ifs" and "should haves", in my honest opinion but I know what I know now and I can waltz into 2019 with a better sense of judgement and so much more knowledge. If ever a year was made up of battling and fighting--2018 was definitely mine. I fought to get to where I am and truth being told, I am still fighting. I fought against negative forces trying to bring me down and belittle me and mine. Negativity in the beginning of the year, negativity in the middle--it wasn't until I decided to continue to fight for my own best interest, that everything started to change. I was at a point where giving up felt a decent idea...but something in me, with the help of my family and friends, kicked me back into shape and kept me moving forward. Now, I have so much to look forward to. I haven't even acknowledged what I'm talking about due to fear of saying something too soon and having things fail. But all I will say is that me and my brother are working, have been working, on some amazing things for this near future. Our skills and talents have been recognized by a few companies and we are coming together to see where this future takes us. I may not be entirely free from harms way but I know that if I can go through the bullshit I had to endure in years previous, I can go through anything! I know 2019 will be better for me and mine because only until now has a fire been lit under me to want to make a change and take my craft/skills/hobbies/talents seriously. Aside from physical skills and things of this nature--I also know who is around at this very moment, those who make a difference in my life and those who shine hope down on me...I know who you are and I just want to say I appreciate your efforts, deeply. Thank you for being here, for as long as we've known each other! Thank you for putting up with me, supporting me and inspiring me to be a better artist each and every day. Some don't see "likes" as anything other than food for attention hungry people to obtain...but I can't stress how GREAT it feels to see them on my work, to look at it being appreciated. The comments telling me how great it is or how I blew them away. It really makes me feel good to know that someone, across the globe even, seen my work and loves it...instead of just making it in my bedroom and pinning it on my bedroom walls for no one to ever see. lol But enough with the sappy stuff, let's hold our heads up high and embrace 2019!! We got this everyone!! <3

🐞Taxidermy Bug Brooches--"Jumping Jack" & "Little Miss Soon-To-Be" | Hannabal Marie

My little brooches.

Hello ladies and gents
Today I am bringing you a post that will either make people intrigued...
or just really gross them out.

I love the preservation of critters in whatever form they can be obtained.
But most importantly, the preservation of insects.
The look of the butterflies pinned to foam boards.

I want to address that I would never hurt a living thing intentionally
but I do love and respect all aspects of life--both living and dead.

The following critters were found as they are shown.
My dog actually brought me the dead grasshopper, so he was the one who supplied me. lol
I only picked up the carcass and used it for the following pieces of art.

It was either do this in remembrance or have my dog chomp on them.
I couldn't let him munch on this beautiful little guy.
But thanks, Charlie--for giving me the little present! :)

📌 Wasteland Pin Co. Showcase/Review 📌 | Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
Today's post is about a lovely pin company called
Wasteland Pin Co.

I have already done an unboxing on my YouTube channel, for those curious.
This post is just going to be a showcase/review on each pin individually.
highlighting what I think of them, their price and the overall construction of them in general.
Is it worth the dollar amount or is it not? That sort of deal.

They shipped to me individually wrapped for my convenience.

Wasteland pin co., for those wondering, is a enamel pin company that sells a wide variety of horror movie themed pins/keychains.
They have a lot of wonderful classic themed horror movies up on their website--like Nosferatu, Scream, The Freddy/Jason franchisee and all of those classics.
With some pins being marked "Limited Edition"...you are getting a one-of-a-kind gem to wear and own.

Look at the bunch of goodies I got! I can't wait to wear them!

They do sell reprints and as far as I am concerned, they also seem to do a few restocks when the demand is strong but most of the ones I will be showing you today is still up for grabs, with the exception of one of them.

I will be including direct links to where you can purchase that specific pin, unless it isn't available.
So, if you like a pin, just click on the intro name and it will redirect you to it.
So, enough with this banter--I will talk more at the end, so let us begin with the showcase:

Clown Doll Hugs (A welcome to the family I am collecting!) // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
Today is a mini photoshoot with some of my dolls I recently got at various thrift store trips.

I just want to say that I am sooooo damn happy I got to find and own all of the dolls I seen total.

I was so scared that they'd cost a fortune when I seen them and in my head,
I was narrowing down my fav of the three...
but when I seen the price they were selling them at, I nabbed them all at once. lol

Anywho, I could rant and rant about nothing all day but I shall just skip the introductions and go straight into the showcase.

Thrift Store Haul--Odd Jewelry Mystery Grab Bags & More Antique Dolls // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
I bring you another thrift haul.
Like I mentioned in previous posts--I got some money from Christmas Cards that my friends and family sent me and decided to use it on some stuff.

I only ever shop at thrift stores anymore--so, it seems fit for me. lol

I really love thrifting odd things, so this was Christmas all over again.
I found some amazing little finds--mind you, these items were collected throughout the month from Jan 1st til now...every once in a while I'll pop into a thrift shop (we have a TON where I live, hence the frequent thrifting posts! lol) and I'll find something that catches my eye.
Majority of the time it will be relatively cheap--like a few dollars to maybe even some cents but a good portion of the time I have to sit back and contemplate if a item is really worth the double digits or not. lol

I don't know what is wrong with a few shops here but most of 'em have become department stores as of recently. Literally selling at the actual price-tag or even more.
I remember when Thrifted meant finding a good deal for ridiculously cheap but I don't even know anymore.

It's used items, you'd think you'd get a smaller price tag but alas,

I am just a sore purchaser who hates spending but loves finding the wares. lmfao

Anywho, here are my finds.
I hope you enjoy your stay~

Merry Christmas 2017 + A Christmas Themed Makeup Look // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
MERRY CHRISTMAS 2017!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday and are winding down from all the festivities.
I ended up spending the day with my family and pets--I took a ton of pictures of the progession and end results.
I will update with a "gift haul" for those curious--
but for now, allow me to show you how our Christmas went down.

Noel...There is Noel in Christmas but there is no "L" in Christmas. <3

Lady Krampus // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
Krampus has been a huge obsession of mine for a long time.
I personally love the more "human" approach to Sir Krampus--so, I took inspiration from that rather than some beast-like creature.
Of course, the creature is still shown in my features but I am in LOVE with the oddly creepy and rather sophisticated humanoid versions of him. Much like in Vintage Postcards or magazines.

--Now, here is my female Krampus--

Oh Deer // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
today's post was on a spur of the moment.
My mother made this glorious Christmas wreath a while ago and I instantly became obsessed and inspired to do something using it.

So, I created this little deer/fawn creature using it.

So, I hope you enjoy my little artwork and please don't judge too harshly...
It's my first time using a Green Screen.

I made the horns from paper mache and I am quite pleased with 'em. It was a last minute added feature, so being able to literally pull something outta my--yeeeeah....it'll do. It'll do.

If you look closely at the wreath my mom designed--you can see a little vintage Bambi toy hiding inside.

Like I said, it was a little extra makeup look.
Nothing special or crazy, just wanted to do something using this gorgeous wreath.
xoxo

Halloween 2017 Festivities // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I hope you all had a wonderful Halloween this year.
Mine was amazing.
We kind of went a more relaxed route this year--mostly centering everything around the children getting candy this time.
We made little indiviual candy bags to hand out--and when the handing out ran out, we also had a few big bowls of loose candies to dish out.

To sum it all down--it was so much fun and I am quite happy with the end results.
This year, as I am sure you have heard in previous posts, have been very odd.
Tons of ups and downs from getting sick midway through my wanting to do Halloween themed looks and stuff, then my frequent trips to the dentist to take care of a few painful teeths.
It just has been crazy but in the end I am very happy about everything--despite the bad stuff. hahaa

--Allow me to show you a few photos of how it went down--

The LAST Halloween Haul Of 2017 // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
I am bringing you the very last Halloween Thrift Haul of 2017--At least, the last in the month of October.
*I will surely continue to make Halloween purchases if I ever find anything afterwards! lol*

But anywho, this shall be the very last in October--until Nov arrives and everything has to turn Turkey-like in appearance. *Cries*

Most of the items I got came from the thrift store, but I did purchase some items straight from eBay--I will start off with the thrift purchases first.

Shall we just skip straight to the showcase?
Yes, please!
First thing I found was this cute Halloween jester--I love these Sugar Loaf dolls. I have a cute bear and another clown girl, so she will be apart of my growing collection!

Book Review: Fliers (20 Small Posters with Big Thoughts) by Nathaniel Russell // Hannabal Marie

 Hello ladies and gents
Another book review.
This time it's for a very odd and rather astounding "book" called
Fliers: 20 Small Posters with Big Thoughts by Nathaniel Russell

This one isn't necessarily a "book" but rather a series of mini posters you can rip out and hang on your bedroom wall.
It is exactly as the name states; Fliers.
The fliers are designed in such a way that gets your head thinking and, at times, allows you to scratch your head in absurdity. hahaa

Birthday Balloon Bufoon // Hannabal Marie

My birthday was August 1st
I had a lovely party with my family and one thing (among the vast amounts I got!)
was a bunch of balloons.

They have been sitting in my room, deflating a bit, so I thought I would do something with them.
Just a small something to get the occasion on photo.

So, I did a tiny little photoshoot using them.

Nothing fancy, just messing around with my oddness.

I hope you like it and understand the significance behind the photos...because I don't. lol
I just did want I felt and they came out pretty good.

I don't know, just felt like flopping on a messy wig and playing with my balloons.
Heh, that sounds gnaughty. lol
I like this one. Like youth lost to the wind. idk but yeah, looks nice.
This is how I feel inside my head. lol

That's pretty much it.
Just messing around and having fun with my deflating balloons.
xoxo

🎃 The FIRST Halloween Haul of 2017 🎃 (Murder Jigsaws, VTG Tablecloth+More) // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
Halloween shopping is one of my favorite past-times.
Among many retailers and shops, the one place I loveeeeee finding awesome stuff for Halloween is the thrift store!
I usually find a lot of cool and awesome Halloween props and things of that nature.

I try to make it a habit to check it every so often for things I personally love but it is a MUST to shop during the Halloween season.
I know, it's still August...still Summer, even but these items have Halloween written all over them.
So, I decided to make this the official "Halloween" Haul of 2017!

So, let us check out my goodies I found this time:

Small Lil Missy Doll Haul (As Promised!) // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
As I promised, this is a secondary post to my Missy Dolls collection I previously posted a while ago.
I said I had a few more coming and they came!

Just a few, so I will not take up any more of your time talking.
I am pretty stoked with these finds, so let us begin with the showcasing!

They shipped to me nicely wrapped in gift-wrapping paper.

☟ Strange & Unusual Finds ☟ (Oddities, Taxidermy & Strange Wicker Baskets!) // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gentlefish
If you don't know (most of you do, but if you are new to this side of the internet!)
I like to collect odd and strange things.
From clowns to taxidermy--I collect it all.

Today I bring you a post full of some strange and rather odd trinkets.

I found all my wares at local thrift shops around town.
Not all at once, but various trips during the month and so on--so forth.

I tend to do that from time to time.
If I have a few bucks, I go snooping around the thrift store.
If I find something, I'll snag it.
This cycle continues until I have too much and gotta post like I am doing now. lmfao

So, without further delay--allow me a minute of your time to show you some of my mad finds~

An Oddity Haul: Spooky Photos, Naughty Coins & Dead Things // Hannabal Marie

Hello one and all,
I am posting another "Haul" related post for your viewing pleasures.
I know I've been posting quite a few of these but I have hit the mother of all jack pots in these last couple of days when it comes to stuff I actually collect and wish to showcase.

Aside from many things I collect--like Clowns, Mannequin parts, Lisa Frank memorabilia, Witchy items and the like.
I also collect oddities of every way, shape and form.

Some of my oddities in my room. Most found at thrift shops or picked up from the street. I also collect things people give me that they expect me to throw away, like letters or gum-wrappers. lol

Now, when it comes to defining what an "oddity" is--it really depends on the person and what they think is "odd".
It's usually trinkets and abnormal finds that differ from the common consumption.
Like broken items, items with malfunctions, items with multiple parts that weren't necessarily intended for the use. So on and so forth.

It really changes between people because what someone might claim is an oddity might be normal to someone else and visa versa.

To end this little rant (I tend to rant a lot about useless things--I'm sorry! lol)
I collect oddities, what I consider oddities and strange things.
Usually at thrift shops, dumpsters, tossed on the side of railroad tracks or found under some bridge out in some isolated village where fish people live and roam...errr...wait....what was I saying? lol

❀ Antique Doll Haul // Hannabal Marie ❀

Hello, I'm back again with another haul.
This time it's just a bunch of strange, odd, abnormal and rather creepy looking dolls!
Where I find my stuff, you might say?
Well, loads of places--Thrift shops, Garage/Yard Sales, Estate Sales, Online retailers like eBay, Ect~

But I digress....
I love strange looking dolls,
That dead stare--the cold facial expressions.
I love them so much!

I have a great haul for you guys today,
especially those who like creepy dolls as much as I do!
I got some vintage plastic dolls, some puppets, so on and so forth...
So, here we go:

☞ HUGE Collective Clown Haul // Hannabal Marie

Clowns are one thing I collect like it's going out of style.
I have a lot of different goals in life, some small and some relatively huge.
But the biggest goal for me in life is obtaining every clown known to man--so that when I die, I can be placed alongside all my various clowns and we can be buried together.

Can you imagine opening up my coffin one day to find me on top of all those colorful clowns?
It would be quite the sight, I'll admit. lol
The following haul I will be showing you has been obtained from June 1st to now.
Just checking back and forth at various different thrifting shops to take a peek at their wares.
So, one day I'll find a single item--the next, two.
So on and so forth until I have too much to post, like right now. hahaaa

I'm sorry, I suck at updating pages and profiles--so, you'll have to take it with a smile. lol

That's what I love about thrifting--you'll never know what you'll find the next day.
Who knows, tomorrow I might be posting ANOTHER huge clown-related haul because my biggest weakness is walking away from a clown item when I have the money and means to make the purchase. lol
Anywho, enough with my rants and rambles--I'll keep you reading until your eyes get sore, so let us get into the showcasing.
I am going to be sectioning out this haul in categories.
I have Music Boxes, Dolls and "Other".

(ミⓛᆽⓛミ)✧ Postcards From A Cat // Hannabal Marie

Every once in a while--I will stumble on something absolutely amazing on eBay.
There will be moments of pure weakness on my end that will gratify my decisions in making that money-exchange.
I have here something of which I found while window-shopping on eBay and let me tell you...
It is the absolute best thing I have ever seen, thus far.

It is A POSTCARD FROM A CAT!
Photo via 'The Postcard From A Cat' eBay listing.
All rights reserved to the owner.
I do not own this image, just wanted to include it.
The kitty is a cutie!
