♥️Cult Fragrance x The Cannibal Carnival Presents: Christmas EVIL & Folklore Noire Perfume Oils♥️ | Hannabal Marie

OUR CREATIONS!
Hello ladies and gents
This has been in the making since last year, but I am here to finally make it official!
I am apart of a group called The Cannibal Carnival on Facebook--have been for quite some time.
What started out as just a nice way to gather like-minded individuals into one place, has now blossomed into over 28K+ fans and counting.

We specialize in the dark and macabre--posting hand-written facts, customized content, odd & strange finds, interesting information about all sorts of things that go bump in the night. It has been a family page, consisting of me and my brother (with the help of my mom and dad, as well.) Never did we think we'd end up where we are now, communicating with so many amazing people on a daily and getting the chance to collaborate with companies that come our way.
Cult Fragrance and The Cannibal Carnival Presents~
That is why I am here announcing this amazing collaboration between us,
The Cannibal Carnival and Cult Fragrance.
I have already went into full detail about Cult Fragrance in a separate post about some incense and items I purchased from her shop a while back, that can be viewed HERE.
But we came together to create this KILLER holiday and folklore line.

All the scents are novelty, but can also be worn as frequent as you like.
Most people nowadays just want to smell good--but good doesn't cut it for us.
We want to smell like a story, a fairy tale or just plainly obscure.
I like scents that send me away to a different realm and allow me to break free from reality.
That is exactly what we, The Cannibal Carnival and Cult Fragrance has came up with these two scent lines.
I couldn't be happier with our creations. They look so beautiful together!

🎄 Xmas 2018 Haul--VTG Ursula Tee, Handmade Gypsy Necklace & Grumpy Cat PJs 🎄 | Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents,
As promised, I am here to show the presents I received for xmas.
Some of these items are actually shared presents and one of them isn't even mine
but I wanted to include because I was happy to have gotten it for my brother. lol

Anywho, if you want to read about the kinds of stuff we did for Xmas as a whole, you can check out that post HERE.

This isn't that, this is just the gifts.
I'm giving you guys two different posts, so that no one can come complaining to me that I gagged them with an unnecessary haul or that I was flashing something in their faces.
You got two posts to choose from--if you see it fit.

You clicked on this haul, you are gonna read the haul. lmfao

🎅 Merry Christmas 2018--Christmas Prep, Eve Shenanigans & Gift Wrapping! 🎅 | Hannabal Marie

I made these rocks for my mom.
She wanted the words "Let It Snow" to be on them in some way, so I painted them like that.
Not my best work but she likes 'em.

Hello ladies and gents,
I am sorry for the long delay, I have been nursing an illness.
Aside from that, I've been so damn tired since Christmas Eve,
I decided to take a few days off to just catch up on some Z's and take care of myself.

Since it's a New Year, I want to recap on some of my Christmas fun!
Giving Christmas kisses to my dad Charlie. This reminds me of one of those renaissance paintings.
We didn't do a lot this Christmas, which is pretty much every year--Not complaining at all.
Truth being told, this time of year, I just like to cozy up on the couch with my pets
and experience the holidays as the warm festive occasion it is.
(Despite the weather being quite frightful!) lol

I took a lot of photos throughout the whole month of December, as usual...
but only am I posting NOW about it all.
I got a few mini hauls (I know, I know...I have been getting complaints from a few people that my hauls "bore" them, so I shall keep it all in one post!) and some other fun little shots I took that felt right at the time. I honestly forgot what types of photos I took, so this is going to be fun for the both of us. lol

🔥"Jack Straw" Inspired By The Ancient Effigies of Hungary🔥 | Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
To end the "New Years" in style, I decided to do a sort of  "educated" makeup look.
Something that was much more than slapping on some makeup and calling it a day.

I wanted to do something that would inform people just as well as educate them, too.
So, I give you--JACK STRAW!

"Hurts my ears to listen, Shannon
Burns my eyes to see.
Cut down a man in cold blood, Shannon
Might as well be me...

So, Jack Straw from Wichita
Cut his buddy down
Dug for him a shallow grave
And layed his body down.
"

In Hungary, they celebrate the New Year by burning effigies or "scapegoats" known as Jack Straws.
They are supposed to represent the evils and misfortunes of the past year bundled up in a "human" body. Before they burn them, however, they parade our the town holding them up and showing them to the townspeople.

If you google search "Jack Straw" not a lot is up about them.
I had to dig a little deep into old texts and documents to find out just this much about them but it is there, you just need the right word usage. Otherwise, you'll end up looking up something else--like the vintage game of Jack Straws.

Upon stumbling on this bit of information and the overall significance these effigies held with some people in Hungary, it really made me fall in love with the custom as a whole.

I am a HUGE lover of the classic Scarecrow!
So this really tug at my existing love of the similar humanoid thing.

And since I am a artist by own personal right--I felt compelled to try my hand at a look inspired by this old custom. I really hope I did the Hungarian people justice for such a beautiful tradition!

I really felt like it was best I recreated this, not only to inform those who didn't know but also perhaps shine a little light on this custom for myself. Partake in the burning of my 'older self' and rid myself of my own evils and misfortunes of my own past years. Thus by recreating this look, I am--in some way or another--becoming my own effigy!

👉Thrift Store Find: 'Two Hats' Haunted Doll | Hannabal Marie

My little haunted doll, 'Two Hats' wants to wish you all a very happy new year!
He's quite ecstatic about it, actually.
He kept falling out of his cabinet onto my floor, trying to get my attention.
He's my little cutie-pie~

I got him a while ago, from a lady who claimed he holds a spirit inside of him.
But she also told me, she found him at a thrift store and did some work on him.
She said that the spirit is of a quirky young man who like to chaos innocent mischief.
Not to harm, but to get a laugh out of you because he doesn't like people being upset or sad.

Goodbye 2018--Hello FUTURE!

I know it isn't 2019 just yet, with my timezone and everything but I know that as soon as I blink, a new year will be already here. Time keeps flying and it hasn't stopped yet but that's life, right? I am bitter-sweet about 2018--it started out pretty horrible but it's ending fairly okay. I am not going to keep you reading a long detailed post about silly resolutions or things that could have been but didn't...no, it's no use to ponder on the "what ifs" and "should haves", in my honest opinion but I know what I know now and I can waltz into 2019 with a better sense of judgement and so much more knowledge. If ever a year was made up of battling and fighting--2018 was definitely mine. I fought to get to where I am and truth being told, I am still fighting. I fought against negative forces trying to bring me down and belittle me and mine. Negativity in the beginning of the year, negativity in the middle--it wasn't until I decided to continue to fight for my own best interest, that everything started to change. I was at a point where giving up felt a decent idea...but something in me, with the help of my family and friends, kicked me back into shape and kept me moving forward. Now, I have so much to look forward to. I haven't even acknowledged what I'm talking about due to fear of saying something too soon and having things fail. But all I will say is that me and my brother are working, have been working, on some amazing things for this near future. Our skills and talents have been recognized by a few companies and we are coming together to see where this future takes us. I may not be entirely free from harms way but I know that if I can go through the bullshit I had to endure in years previous, I can go through anything! I know 2019 will be better for me and mine because only until now has a fire been lit under me to want to make a change and take my craft/skills/hobbies/talents seriously. Aside from physical skills and things of this nature--I also know who is around at this very moment, those who make a difference in my life and those who shine hope down on me...I know who you are and I just want to say I appreciate your efforts, deeply. Thank you for being here, for as long as we've known each other! Thank you for putting up with me, supporting me and inspiring me to be a better artist each and every day. Some don't see "likes" as anything other than food for attention hungry people to obtain...but I can't stress how GREAT it feels to see them on my work, to look at it being appreciated. The comments telling me how great it is or how I blew them away. It really makes me feel good to know that someone, across the globe even, seen my work and loves it...instead of just making it in my bedroom and pinning it on my bedroom walls for no one to ever see. lol But enough with the sappy stuff, let's hold our heads up high and embrace 2019!! We got this everyone!! <3

🎃 Pumpkin Inspired Halloween Nails 🎃 | Hannabal Marie

I wanted some nice nails to go with my new shirt.
Hence the color combo and mini pumpkin.

Hello ladies and gents
it is that time of year and since it is fast approaching
I decided to take this opportunity to create some nails.

These are my Pumpkin/Halloween inspired nails.

I found this cool nail polish at Walmart. I wanted to test it out.

To be quite frank,
it was just an excuse to use this new
black glow-light nail polish I got myself the other day.

🐞Taxidermy Bug Brooches--"Jumping Jack" & "Little Miss Soon-To-Be" | Hannabal Marie

My little brooches.

Hello ladies and gents
Today I am bringing you a post that will either make people intrigued...
or just really gross them out.

I love the preservation of critters in whatever form they can be obtained.
But most importantly, the preservation of insects.
The look of the butterflies pinned to foam boards.

I want to address that I would never hurt a living thing intentionally
but I do love and respect all aspects of life--both living and dead.

The following critters were found as they are shown.
My dog actually brought me the dead grasshopper, so he was the one who supplied me. lol
I only picked up the carcass and used it for the following pieces of art.

It was either do this in remembrance or have my dog chomp on them.
I couldn't let him munch on this beautiful little guy.
But thanks, Charlie--for giving me the little present! :)

☠️ 99 Cents HAULoween--Coffee Cups & Makeup (+Bumpy Witchy Pumpkins!) ☠️ | Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
Just posting again, for the sake of obtaining all I can obtain for the sake of Halloween.

I went back (Yes, back!) to the 99 cents store and picked up a few more items.
Just makeup and a few things here and there.

I wanted to get my hands on them now, before they sold out.
And after the trip to the 99, we also went to Smart n Final to pick up some dinner and we ran into a big o' bin full of some lovely bumpy pumpkins.
So, that is what this post is going to be about--makeup, some random decor and a ton of bumpy pumpkins. lol

So, let's get to it, shall we?

📌 Wasteland Pin Co. Showcase/Review 📌 | Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
Today's post is about a lovely pin company called
Wasteland Pin Co.

I have already done an unboxing on my YouTube channel, for those curious.
This post is just going to be a showcase/review on each pin individually.
highlighting what I think of them, their price and the overall construction of them in general.
Is it worth the dollar amount or is it not? That sort of deal.

They shipped to me individually wrapped for my convenience.

Wasteland pin co., for those wondering, is a enamel pin company that sells a wide variety of horror movie themed pins/keychains.
They have a lot of wonderful classic themed horror movies up on their website--like Nosferatu, Scream, The Freddy/Jason franchisee and all of those classics.
With some pins being marked "Limited Edition"...you are getting a one-of-a-kind gem to wear and own.

Look at the bunch of goodies I got! I can't wait to wear them!

They do sell reprints and as far as I am concerned, they also seem to do a few restocks when the demand is strong but most of the ones I will be showing you today is still up for grabs, with the exception of one of them.

I will be including direct links to where you can purchase that specific pin, unless it isn't available.
So, if you like a pin, just click on the intro name and it will redirect you to it.
So, enough with this banter--I will talk more at the end, so let us begin with the showcase:

Clown Doll Hugs (A welcome to the family I am collecting!) // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
Today is a mini photoshoot with some of my dolls I recently got at various thrift store trips.

I just want to say that I am sooooo damn happy I got to find and own all of the dolls I seen total.

I was so scared that they'd cost a fortune when I seen them and in my head,
I was narrowing down my fav of the three...
but when I seen the price they were selling them at, I nabbed them all at once. lol

Anywho, I could rant and rant about nothing all day but I shall just skip the introductions and go straight into the showcase.

Thrift Haul: Dead Animals, Human Hair Doll & Wooden Kitty Cats // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gentlefish
I hope you are excited for another haul post.
Because I know I am.
Finding all these wonderful things has been quite a riot
and I am just happy and quite thrilled to be able to show them to you today.

Anyways, before I get to the meat and bones of this post
I want to address a question I was asked in my facebook inbox the other day.
(for those unaware, I share my posts on my facebook fan page~)
A friend of mine asked;
"How is it that you find all these awesome things at once?"

She basically wanted to know how I am so "lucky" to have found half of what I have for all these frequent posts.
The answer is simple: I don't.
At least, not all at once. lol

I actually have a big tub in my room that I let pile up with thrift items until I am able to put things away. But before I put them away, I take photos of them and pile them into a folder on my laptop.
Before long, I have several different folders full of sets to which I categorize and post accordingly.

So, some of the things I find in the span of a week. Other things will take longer.
A single day could give me an armful of finds while other days I will only nab one tiny thing.
It really depends on the day and what is there when I check out my store.

Also, we have quite a few thrift stores on the block.
Perhaps even one on every corner, more or less. hahaa
It also helps that I work at a very huge one, so I get first dibs on the good stuff when and if I see it fit.

but ya, thought I'd answer this publicly--in case anyone else is wondering, as well.

Now, onto the next set of items for you all to see today!
Disclaimer: If you are easily offended by dead animals/taxidermy/vintage fur and other odd specimens--please, click away. Some of the items today will showcase just that. Just a warning!

Thrift Haul: Tom Waits Postcards, Antique Music Dolls & A Vtg Wedding Gown // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
I come bringing another lovely haul for you guys and gals.

This post will showcase some amazing finds, such as:
A vintage wedding dress, Tom Waits postcards, Antique music dolls and fitted T's.

Enough with pointless blabber.
I will just jump right into the showing.

Thrift Haul: Mannequin, Vtg Accordion & Angels // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
Another lovely little haul for you guys today.
I am sorry for not frequently posting like I used to.
I can sit here and give excuses but I wont. haha
I just will say that I have been collecting
and putting things aside to create lovely posts for you all to see.

For all those new who are just stumbling on this post--I want to introduce myself:
The name is Hannabal Marie and I'm a hoarder. lol jkjk

Actually, I like to thrift shop to such a degree that the thrill of "finding a good find" is so addicting to me that I have started posting my wares for the public eye because a few of my close friends and relatives are just as addicted to thrifting as I am
and requested I do this as a huge haul--so, here I am obliging their command. hahaa

I get asked this all the time;
"What do you look for in items?"
And I can't properly give an explanation other than I like what most people hate.
I like finding the odd and unusual as well as the tacky and quite hideous.
(as someone pointed out to me once before! hahaa)
Anything really that would make a great photoshoot or go with any of my many collections;
Clown, vintage items, odd items and other. lol
I also own a record player, so old music is always great to collect, as well. lol

But enough chit-chat--you didn't come here to make conversation.
You came to gawk and gawk you shall. <3

I have so many great things today--from clothing to a lot of vintage items.
I hope you enjoy.
So please, grab yourself a hot cup of coffee or tea
and scroll through some of the junk I call treasures~

Thrift Store Haul--Odd Jewelry Mystery Grab Bags & More Antique Dolls // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
I bring you another thrift haul.
Like I mentioned in previous posts--I got some money from Christmas Cards that my friends and family sent me and decided to use it on some stuff.

I only ever shop at thrift stores anymore--so, it seems fit for me. lol

I really love thrifting odd things, so this was Christmas all over again.
I found some amazing little finds--mind you, these items were collected throughout the month from Jan 1st til now...every once in a while I'll pop into a thrift shop (we have a TON where I live, hence the frequent thrifting posts! lol) and I'll find something that catches my eye.
Majority of the time it will be relatively cheap--like a few dollars to maybe even some cents but a good portion of the time I have to sit back and contemplate if a item is really worth the double digits or not. lol

I don't know what is wrong with a few shops here but most of 'em have become department stores as of recently. Literally selling at the actual price-tag or even more.
I remember when Thrifted meant finding a good deal for ridiculously cheap but I don't even know anymore.

It's used items, you'd think you'd get a smaller price tag but alas,

I am just a sore purchaser who hates spending but loves finding the wares. lmfao

Anywho, here are my finds.
I hope you enjoy your stay~

"Dream Of Sheep" Inspired Makeup Look // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
Today I bring you a look I did while listening to
"Dream Of Sheep" by Kate Bush.

It was another one of those "spur of the moments" kinda things.
As I listened, I started messing around with makeups and ideas in my head...
then came to this artistic conclusion.

I have wanted to do a "water" look for a long time now--
something involving actual water with my art concept but have always been too afraid to mess around with it.
Not only is it a messy thing and it requires a lot of prep work and time
but I am highly afraid of water. Due to my high fear of drowning.
But yeah, I thought 2018 will be the year I broke that fear and did something beautiful with it.
Plus, I take showers and baths, so I thought "what am I really afraid of? It's just a bathtub!" lol

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018 // Hannabal Marie

Hello ladies and gents
we are now in 2018--I can't believe how fast this new year came.

2017 was such a rocky year for me and mine--full of hardships and so much drama.
I don't want to get into detail but let me just say that I am bittersweet about 2017.
Despite the negatives, I ended the year on such a high note that would make Mariah Carey jealous. lol

We watched the countdown with Steve Harvey--why they chose him after that Miss America stunt? I'll never know! lol

I don't know why but before Christmas, I was dealing with depression and so many negative things.
I didn't even feel inspired to do much for Halloween and it is my personal favorite holiday.
I kind of blame the various dentist trips and my getting sick late in October for the ruining of my Halloween spirit but even so--
I just didn't feel too good until after Thanksgiving.

My brothers hands here, we Saged the house before the new year--to cleanse any impurities and bad vibes.

That was when all the fun stuff started to happen and I ended the year with a TON of makeup looks and photoshoots.
Aside from the awesome makeup inspiration that befell me that Christmas, I also made some great friendships and erased all the bad depression and stuff that happened during the beginning of that year. I guess it's safe to say that 2018 started on such a great note that I am actually very excited about this new year. I can just feel something positive about it--something great.
Like this year will be MY year!

3...2...1....HAPPY NEW YEAR!
